*NEW* ZILLA 2.0 - 7'3" Med-Heavy Fast - Ultimate Bass Rod

Versatility and excellence that only took us 9 years!!!  The new Alpha Angler ZILLA 2.0 is finally here.  We’ve improved the blank, added a more efficient guide train, reduced overall weight and introduced a more capable handle system.

DESIGN:  The Zilla platform originated 9 years ago in an attempt to build the best FROG rod, but it's versatility quickly became apparent as a Texas rig rod as well.  Built on a medium heavy, fast action Toray graphite blank, the Zilla has the all the best characteristics:  excellent sensitivity, accurate casting, fishing landing taper, and light weight.  Although we don’t focus on overall weight in the design of our rods, the Zilla is exceptionally balanced and light weight.  You won’t experience any fatigue fishing a 13-hour day on this bass rod. 

Versatility in spades, the Zilla will be your go-to for frogs, texas rigs, tubes, football jigs, swim jigs, pitching jigs, spinnerbaits, 5” swimbaits and much more.  Simply put, the Zilla will become an extension of your arm, seamlessly connecting you to everything your bait is doing.   

BLANK:  The Zilla 2.0 utilizes the same high-modulus, medium heavy, fast action blank found in the original Zilla.  Slight modifications were made to the blank to improve balance and reduce weight without sacrificing durability.  The biggest advantage to this blank is it’s taper, which isn’t standard in this industry.  The Zilla casts extremely well, while also pitching and skipping with ease.

COMPONENTS:  The Zilla 2.0 utilizes a newly designed butt-cap and rear grip that aids in casting and balance.  The butt-cap is high grade aluminum with a rubber end piece that won’t wear down like a cork or EVA cap would.  The new guide train, is built from 316 stainless steel.  The guides are extremely efficient, providing less braid drag and noise than other guides we tested.  The footprint of the guide is minimal, but designed to stay rock-solid on the blank.  Finally, we finish the Zilla 2.0 with the Fuji ECSM reel seat.  By far the most comfortable reel seat ever designed!!
